Fire destroys building with bat roost on Nature Reserve

A fire has destroyed an historic railway hut on Dorset Wildlife Trust’s (DWT’s) Powerstock Common nature reserve, near Maiden Newton in west Dorset.  Arson is strongly suspected.

DWT giving free wildlife gardening advice at open day

"Simon Says" - Oil in Poole Bay: now is the time to stand up for wildlife

Recently a proposal to drill a 1,800m deep exploration oil well out at sea in Poole Bay was sent around for consultation.  It would be just 6 km (3.7 miles) east-north-east from Studland, somewhere south of about Boscombe pier.

First record of harvest mouse found for Upton Heath Nature Reserve

Conservationists and volunteers at Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT) were delighted to find the first evidence of harvest mice at the Upton Heath Nature Reserve in Corfe Mullen.
